I admit it, I am a blogger without a laptop. Oh, the shame. I always wonder when I leave the house what emails I am missing and I worry that maybe there are some really important communications that I should know about and be responding to. And yes, I am only slightly addicted to my email. So in my search for a gadget that would let me keep up with my emails, I came across the Peek. As its’ slogan states: “Simply Email”. Perfect.

I was lucky enough to get the Peek to review and I have to say I am very impressed. I love gadgets in general, but the Peek is something totally different from anything that I have seen or used. The Peek comes with a very easy to understand instruction book, it took me about 5 minutes to get set up, turned on, linked to the network, and downloading my contacts. That has to be a record for me…while I love gadgets I have found that they don’t necessary reciprocate that love. So, I get all set up and want to check my account at the Peek website…so I go looking for my PIN and realize that I deleted the email that it came in. Opps. I decided that this was the perfect time to “review” how easy it was to reset your PIN if you lost it (you see, I totally meant to delete that email). I go to Peek, click on Login, and click on Forgot PIN; all I had to do was enter my email address and about 3 seconds later an email appeared in my computer account saying here is your new PIN. Very easy.

The Peek supports most email providers, I have Gmail and it works. There is a list online that you can check out if you are wondering if your email provider will work. So a little about the look: the Peek is small and compact; it is about a ¼ larger than my cell phone and just as thin. I can put both the Peek and my cell phone in the easy-to-reach side pocket of my diaper bag. The Peek also looks cool (a big thing in my book), I actually look cool and trendy while using it. I got the Aqua color, which is totally rocking, but it is also available in Grey and Black Cherry. It is easy to use, even for those who aren’t tech savvy, and the keyboard is pretty to type on. One thing I have noticed is that it is about 6-8 minutes behind getting them emails, and what I mean by this is that the email appears in my account on the computer and about 6 minutes later it appears on the Peek; not really a huge issue at all.

I have to say that this is definitely one of my favorite gadgets of all time, right up there with my digi cam and cell phone. I had been considering getting some sort of new phone, like an iPhone, so I could keep track of email but with the Peek I don’t need to anymore.
